The line crosses the amazing Glenfinnan viaduct and features a scheduled steam train each day that has been made famous as the Hogwart's Express in the Harry Potter films. The railway then passes Arisaig from where you can catch ferries to Rum, Eigg and Muck and beaches made famous by the film Local Hero. Arriving at Mallaig you get lovely views across the Sound of Sleat to Skye and delicious shell-fish. A ferry runs to Armadale in Skye during the summer months.
The term Bed and Breakfast (aka B&B) is merely a generic term that implies that there might be limited facilities for guests outside of a bedroom and a breakfast in the morning. (Some B&Bs, especially in rural areas, do offer lunch and dinner!). Learn more about accommodation types
